What is StationOne?

What is an AI client or AI desktop client?
An AI client or AI desktop client is an application that enables artificial intelligence models to run directly on a user’s own desktop instead of relying on remote servers. This client-side approach enhances privacy by keeping data local and can improve performance by reducing latency. It also allows AI features to function offline without requiring a persistent internet connection. AI clients are seeing widespread adoption across many industries.

StationOne is inspired by the recognition that today’s workforce needs access to AI tooling across multiple models, connections, and workflow support frameworks.
Can StationOne be customized for different industries?
Absolutely! StationOne features a modular design that allows for industry-specific customizations to meet diverse business needs. A unique element of StationOne is the ability to create and join Workspaces. A workspace can be created to separate industry-specific knowledge, models, and connectors for use by others. Creators of workspaces can monetize them and use StationOne as a means to distribute industry-specific variants.
Which platforms or operating systems does StationOne support?
StationOne is designed to be cross-platform, supporting Windows, macOS, and Linux.
How do I get started with StationOne?
Simply download the app for your platform and start using it. Once installed you can register, configure Workspaces, configure models, and start using StationOne. Contact us for assistance.
Is StationOne free?
Yes, during beta, StationOne is free. To use models within StationOne, you need your own API keys from the providers of your choice. Model providers generally charge for their services via tokens or other pay-per-use methods. In the future, we may add features and capabilities that require a Pro or Enterprise license.
How do I get API keys for models to use with StationOne?
You need to sign up with the model providers of your choice and get your API keys from them. StationOne will ask you for these keys when you try to use a new model for the first time.
How does StationOne ensure user data privacy?
StationOne requires registration. Outside of authenticating the application, StationOne does not collect any of your information or engage with any of your AI use cases. All of the data StationOne uses operationally is saved on your computer. The models you use and connect to StationOne may have their own privacy policies, so make sure to consult any of these specific policies.
